Terms of Use

Last updated: 19 April 2026

Beta draft. PlaySpot is in closed beta. These terms are a placeholder while we finalise the published version. They outline how we intend to operate; by using the beta you agree to them, but we may revise them as we go. We'll tell you when material changes happen.

1. About PlaySpot

PlaySpot ("we", "us", "our") is a free progressive web app for discovering playgrounds across Australia. It's operated as a personal project from Australia.

2. Using the app

You must be at least 13 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to create an account. You agree to use PlaySpot for personal, non-commercial purposes and not to misuse the service, including by:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, at our discretion and without notice.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for any activity that happens under your account. Let us know straight away if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Community contributions

When you add a comment, age rating, or edit suggestion, you grant PlaySpot a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, moderate, and publish that contribution inside the app. You can ask us to remove your contributions at any time by contacting us.

You confirm that contributions are your own observations, factually honest to the best of your knowledge, and don't contain personal information about other people (including children) without their consent.

We review comments and suggestions before they go live. We may edit, reject, or remove contributions that don't meet our guidelines.

5. Playground data

Playground locations and features are compiled from Australian open data sources and community contributions. We make reasonable efforts to keep the data accurate, but we can't guarantee it's complete or current. Always check conditions on site, especially fencing, shade, and equipment suitability for your child.

6. No warranty

PlaySpot is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, including reliance on playground information.

Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees that can't lawfully be excluded.

7. Changes to the app and these terms

We may change features, pause the service, or update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via the email address on your account. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of courts in that state.

Questions or content removal requests: email hello@playspot.app. We aim to respond within a few business days during the beta.
